Southbury presents updated Guide to Town Board and Commissions. The League of Women Voters, Southbury, presented its newly revised publication, “Guide to Town Boards and Commissions,” in conjunction with the recent State of the Town Forum with First Selectman Bill Davis. The new guide was produced in cooperation with the office of the first selectman and the chairs of the boards and commissions, who reviewed the content. Potential volunteers, candidates and residents will learn about member qualifications and the responsibilities of each of the town’s 17 boards and commissions. The League of Women Voters hopes that this nonpartisan guide will be of use to the screening and nominating committees of Southbury’s political parties, as well as unaffiliated residents who wish to volunteer for positions on the boards and commissions.
