Making Democracy Work

LWV of Northern Fairfield County

The League of Women Voters of Northern Fairfield County serves the towns of Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield and Sherman.

Meetings and Events

LWV of Northern Fairfield County is sponsoring a "Get to Know the Candidates" evening on September 29, 2016, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The event will take place in Warner Hall, located on the downtown Western Connecticut State University campus, 181 White St., Danbury.

Candidates are being invited whose districts coincide with the five towns represented by this LWV chapter. These are Assembly districts 2, 107, 108, 109, 110 and 138, along with Senatorial districts 24, 26 and 30. Candidates will have the opportunity to address issues with constituents at their respective tables during the evening. This is an informal question and answer event, rather than a formal debate setting. The LWVNFC hopes that many voters in these local districts will take the opportunity to meet the candidates and hear their ideas for the district and state as a whole.

LWVNFC is co-sponsoring a 5th Congressional District debate on Oct 13, with the LWV of Litchfield and the News-Times in Danbury. Time and place TBA
